S. Ignazio da Loyola Church
This church was built between 1626 and 1685 by Pope Gregory
XV in honor of Ignatius of Loyola, the founder of the Company of Jesus,
canonized in 1622.
Instead of a real dome, never built, Andrea Pozzo conceived
and painted on the church ceiling a marvelous scene with
perspective simulating depth and light.
